Principal engineer

Joshua Chapman is the principal engineer of Rampart Simulation. With twenty years of production engineering across game development and applied simulation, he has shipped commercial titles at Electronic Arts and Midway Games and is currently engaged in simulation engineering for defense and commercial clients. His technical work spans Unity and Unreal Engine systems engineering, multi-display synchronization, drone simulation, training and scenario systems, and large-scale synthetic environments.

Day-to-day technical depth: Unity with C#; Unreal Engine 4 and 5 with C++ engine extension, Blueprints, and Niagara VFX; nDisplay cluster rendering and frame-locked synchronization for dome and curved-screen installations; networked simulation interoperability over HLA, DIS, and DDS; and performance engineering for sustained 60+ FPS in complex training scenarios. Earlier AAA experience includes engineering on multiple proprietary in-house game engines. Active training simulation work spans Unity, Unreal Engine 4, and Unreal Engine 5.

Engagements are structured for direct work and subcontract delivery with simulation integrators, prime contractors, and industrial training providers. Available for principal-led delivery or as embedded technical leadership inside an existing program team.
